Singer-Songwriter-Pianist Shauna Burns Releases New Single “Gray Moon” – OUT NOW!

(Los Angeles, CA) — Shauna Burns’ new single, “Gray Moon” is a soothing song where she sings of change and the goodness that comes with it. The lyrics are paired with beautifully orchestrated piano solos bringing it all together for a minimal, dramatic song that highlights Burns’ recognizable vocals and inspirational lyrics.

“Gray Moon is about change.  Changing your mind, changing your point of view and changing what could be.  Sometimes people change and you do not recognize them anymore.  They move from the light of the sun to the gray shadow of the moon.  We drift up changing direction, circling the universe.  We may have our moments of darkness but the light is always just on the other side, waiting for us.”

Burns’ profound lyrics and sweeping piano solos have been built on her reputation in the Celtic music world. “It’s heartwarming to receive messages from people who discover and connect with my music and it’s gratifying to know that what I created in solitude has the ability to touch people emotionally,” she says.

Shauna Burns is a Las Vegas based singer-songwriter who recently celebrated the 10 Year Anniversary of Every Thought, her debut album. While still continuing with the theme of female independence, strength, and freedom from her 2013 album Violet, Burns uses continues to weave these themes throughout all her songs.

Innovative Bluegrass Band Shotgun Holler Release "Loaded" Via Dry Lightning Records. Available NOW!

(BOONEVILLE, KY) – It’s not often that a bluegrass band comes around sporting tattoos and singing about things that some radio stations of that genre might find a bit too left of center. But that’s exactly what Randall Deaton liked about Shotgun Holler, the new five-piece bluegrass band with an edge, when he signed them to his Dry Lightning Records.
Shotgun Holler was founded by mandolinist Shawn Brock and vocalist/guitarist Matt Jones out of a desire to create substantive music in the genre they love. The duo then brought on bassist Rod Lunger, banjo player Nathan Treadway, and fiddle player Evan McGregor who all hail from various cities around the Midwest. On the new record, Loaded, Jones penned three of the album’s 11 tracks: “I’ve Got Ramblin On My Mind,” “Miners Grave,” and “One Lone Tree.” The rest of the record showcases the band’s modern take on bluegrass songs, as well as their unique renditions of the alt-country song, “Methamphetamine” by Son Volt, and “Relatively Easy” by singer/songwriter Jason Isbell, who is a former member of alt-country band Drive-By Truckers
Of the Son Volt and Isbell covers, Deaton says, “I think these drug-abuse-related songs are good examples of the band doing non-traditional bluegrass themed material and are some of the most interesting cuts on this record.”
“We don’t really fit the typical bluegrass mold of today. Instrumentally we are pretty recognizable as bluegrass. We’re using the traditional bluegrass instruments – banjo, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, and fiddle. Where we tend to cross into other areas is the content that we choose to sing about, which can be very non-traditional. Lyrically, all of the songs aren’t necessarily wholesome,” Brock said.
Loaded was produced by Mountain Heart founding member Jim Van Cleve at Lonesome Day Studios in Booneville, Kentucky and is set to be released and distributed by Dry Lightning Records and Sony Red on June 30. Van Cleve has produced award winning projects spanning a variety of genres for acts such as Mountain Heart, Newfound Road, Del Shields, Celebration of Life II (Musicians Against Childhood Cancer), Annabelle Road, his own Grammy Nominated solo project, and the IBMA Awards Show Theme, among others. Van Cleve engineered the album with Greg Lawrence. Van Cleve, Brock, and Jones mixed the project.
Available now via Airplay Direct, Loaded is ranked #9 for the month with “My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It,” in the Top 50.

Kwame Binea Shakedown’s self-titled debut EP OUT NOW!

New York, NY - ...Harlem-based roots rock songwriter/singer Kwame Binea, who fronts the Kwame Binea Shakedown, has announced the worldwide digital release of the group's debut and self-titled EP on Tuesday, July 17, 2015 via CDbaby.com and all their major digital distribution partners including  iTunes and Amazon.com.

"Kwame Binea Shakedown" features four tracks including the group's first single
"Let Go" (released in early April), their most recent single, "Hang On" (released in mid-June) and  "Little Lady" and "Waiting," which have never been released. Musically, the EP showcases Binea's "roots rock" lineage, which is a fusion of rhythmic rock n' roll, ample dosages of infectious funk, silky soul, screaming blues and just a smidgeon of reggae and funk.

All the songs were written and produced by Binea and guitarist Justin Wilcox for Binea's indie imprint, Pelopos Entertainment Group. The EP was co-produced by Jerry Ramos and the Shakedown Band. The Shakedown band comprises; Binea on lead vocals, guitarist's Justin Wilcox and Art Vanterpool, drummer Medley Shabazz, bassist Phil Bass, Daron Wright on keyboards, Kengo Yamada and Michael Quigley on saxophone, Brian Varneke on trumpet and guest background vocalist's Dietrice Bolden and Jindai Joseph. The EP was recorded at SST Studios, Kaleidscope Studios and Mercury Studios, all located in New Jersey.

Binea and Wilcox have been intermittingly writing, recording and performing the songs over the past several years. "We've always viewed ourselves primarily as a live band" explained Kwame. "As writers, we're fueled by how our fans and audiences react to our songs. We take that energy and feedback  back into the studio and do our best to channel it into the songs we decide to record. This EP means a lot to us because it's driven by all the love and positivity our fans keep  giving us. It's our way of expressing  our appreciation and thanks for all their inspiration and support," he added.

Binea, grew up splitting time in West London (his birth place) and in his native origins, Ghana. He later moved to Cherry Hill, NJ as a teenager where he started to unearth his artistic aspirations as a burgeoning songwriter/singer/guitarist. While in college he teamed up with  guitarist/vocalist Justin Wilcox as a  duo, which became the nucleus that spawned the rock/funk  collective Kwame Shakedown in Harlem, NY (2011). Over the past several years they have built a legion of loyal fans performing at most of the city's most noted music venues including Joe's Pub, Arlene Grocery, Rockwood Music Hall and Brooklyn Bowl, to name just a few.

EMERGING SINGER-SONGWRITER ROXANNA TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM EXOTICA ON JULY 8

“I believe the world is hungry to hear songs about love. Enough about bad romance and hate and war. Music should be easy on the ear.”

Entering into the music world with a devastating heartbreak, the incomparable Roxanna penned “Unforgotten,” a sorrowful but soulful song, threaded with hope for tomorrow. “That song was my therapy,” Roxanna notes. “It just poured out of me, and helped me believe all of this happened for a reason.”

With the introduction to Exotica, lead single “Close Your Eyes” takes you on a personal journey with its dramatic storyline and emotional lyrics, Roxanna’s heartfelt message is strongly emphasized by the elegance of her gorgeous vocals.  “There is a light at the end of the tunnel, after every storm there is a rainbow, just an overall hope in the end.”

Roxanna believes, “Music should bring pleasure, it should be elegant and relaxing. It’s all about friendship, pleasure, romance, love and beauty.” Roxanna’s world of experience is translated through her passion for music and songwriting. She was born in Iran in the midst of an ongoing war with Iraq. As a child, she turned to music for balance and tranquility, religiously mimicking the English-language songs of Olivia Newton-John.

After traveling the world and experiencing both heartbreak and love, Roxanna has teamed up with the best in the industry to release Exotica, a collection of stories that are universal and inspiring.

Roxanna is determined to craft every song and lyric as relatable to whomever will take a listen with the intention to always spread love and healing through her romantic songs and stories.  It was while studying to be a nurse that Roxanna witnessed first hand the healing power of music. Roxanna sang each night to a young man battling cancer. When he was released, the man’s father said to her, “My son is better because of the way you sang to him.” With that, she realized that music, like medicine is a great healer and it was then hat she realized she needed to pursue signing as a career.

For her full-length album, she contacted well-known producer Mark Portmann credited with working with Julio Iglesias, Barbra Streisand, and Christina Aguilera. It was her rendition of Aguilera’s “Lift Me Up” that convinced Portmann to bring Roxanna under his wing. And what spawned from their collaboration was Exotica, a seamless, mastered mix of adult contemporary, classic pop, and world music.

Listening through the album, you’ll be taken on a journey of love … from the first moment of flirtation to the confidence you find with everlasting love.

Featuring a string of romantic songs including new renditions of The Hollies 1972 hit song, “The Air That I Breathe,” and Lionel Richie’s 1984 smash hit, “Hello”.

MISSING THE MAGIC OF THE CLASSIC POP/ROCK VIBE YOU GREW UP WITH? LAS VEGAS EXTENDS A STANDING INVITATION TO OPEN THE FORGOTTEN DOOR

For Immediate Release

Filling a Long Vacant Niche in Pop Music, Performing
Songs With Stories, Substance and Multi-Layer Harmonies,
The Popular Six-Piece Band Launches ‘Unlocked,’ Its Upcoming Debut
Album of ‘New Classic Rock’ With A Highly Anticipated
Weekend Residency in the Wolf Theatre at the Clarion Hotel & Casino

This summer, hundreds of thousands of music fanatics will flock again to Las Vegas to see legends and those impersonating legends satisfy their thirst for the way pop music used to be. From “Jersey Boys” and “Rock of Ages” to Elton John, Rod Stewart, even Donny and Marie, everyone wants to experience what we’ve all been missing on pop radio for far too long: songs with stories, lyrics of substance, strong lead vocals and soul-stirring, multi-layer harmonies.

But why settle for nostalgia when a Vegas-based band that’s in love with the classic pop/rock of the ‘70s and ‘80s is right up the road, performing songs so fresh and new yet so familiar in style that a whole new phrase (“New Classic Rock”) had to be coined to capture the way they work their magic on the fans?

Johndale Stanley, co-founder, keyboardist and one of the lead vocalists of the six-piece Forgotten Door (www.officialforgottendoor.com), explains the origins of their unique name: “We want to communicate that there is still good music out there that has heart and soul like the great pop/rock we grew up with. The ‘forgotten door’ is a passage back into the things people loved and got excited about then. Our fans tell us they love songs like ‘Hotel California,’ ‘Long Train Runnin’ and ‘Rhiannon,’ but they’ve heard them a million times. They want new music created in that vein that they can feel passionate about. They’re emotionally thirsty to hear something fresh.”

Unlike most groups that long to tour the U.S. and world, Forgotten Door is excited about staying in town, performing for residents, tourists, conventioneers, etc. Celebrating the upcoming release of their highly anticipated, appropriately titled debut album Unlocked, the eclectic band—whose lineup includes co-founder, vocalist and guitarist Lonnie Danley, lead vocalist Melody Ritz, lead and slide guitarist, and vocalist Michael Seal, bassist Karl Gottmann and drummer Kevin Brennan—is starting an unprecedented six month weekend residency in July in the Wolf Theatre at the Clarion Hotel & Casino (305 Convention Circle Drive, Las Vegas 89109).

Prior to the official opening night of Friday, August 16, the group will do open to the public previews the weekends of July 26-28, August 2-4, and August 9-11. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. for the 7 p.m. shows on Fridays and Saturdays– a slot that is perfect for fans to launch a night of fun on the town (and the nearby Strip). On Sundays, the show will start at 9 p.m. Ticket prices are $47.97 General Admission - $57.97 VIP, and booths for four are available for $195. Tickets can her purchased here: https://www.vendini.com/ticket-software.html?t=tix&e=936b095b8f218e4a1fe6119ab747767a.

Forgotten Door, whose members are all veteran musicians and entertainers, have created a powerful audio-visual experience complete with dramatic lighting designed to bring out the textures and nuance of each song. Many fans and critics have compared the male-female and creative dynamics of the band to that of what Fleetwood Mac became after Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined in the mid-‘70s. The nine songs on Unlocked showcase the group’s depth, anchored by the versatile songwriting and production skills of Stanley and Danley, the band’s creative core. Michael is also a contributing songwriter and Melody is a lead vocalist on several tracks, including the first single to be released, the mid-tempo pop rocker “Masquerade.” When Johndale is singing lead, Lonnie, Melody and Michael do harmony vocals. When Melody is out front, Johndale, Lonnie and Michael take the harmonies.

Stanley sees his overriding task as “taking all the songs the members bring to the table and forging them into a collective Forgotten Door sound. In essence, what we are doing is drawing from our great array of classic influences and creating music that has our own unique signature on it. We’re working hard on bringing something genuine and that moves people to the contemporary musical landscape.”

Earlier versions of songs on Unlocked have already made a happy commotion on Vradio.com, a popular internet radio station with some four million listeners, owned and operated by Big Poppa G. “Masquerade” spent 27 weeks on his chart and “Puerto Penasco” went 24, hitting #1—meaning that it snagged 40,000 requests by internet and phone. In all, four Forgotten Door songs charted on the station as part of a test marketing effort—an achievement all the more remarkable since the website’s main consumers are R&B and rap fans.

Considering how their last names rhyme, perhaps it was musical destiny when bride and groom called Stanley and Danley, respectively, to sing for a wedding back in 1994. Their perfect blend of lead and vocal harmonies led to a long lasting musical partnership, which skyrocketed when melody Ritz joined the group. The three enjoyed performing as a popular local cover band for a handful of years, but in time they decided the only way to move forward was to write and perform original material.

“When Lonnie first told me he wanted to write originals, I was skeptical, but then I heard his song ‘Far Far Away’ and I realized this was no joke, that we could actually do this,” says Stanley. “We started retooling in 2007-8 and within a year of that song being written, I had also penned my first tune, a personal and emotional song called ‘Gypsy Woman.’ As our vibe developed and people started responding to it, we realized people really wanted to hear something fresh, that sounds familiar even when they’re hearing it for the first time. That’s what the Forgotten Door aesthetic is all about.”

Over the years, when they were a cover band, they performed gigs and corporate events at numerous venues in Las Vegas, including the Hard Rock, Stratosphere, Las Vegas Hilton, Club Madrid (at Sunset Station) to name a few. A few years ago, classic rock station 96.3 KKLZ held a battle of the bands at South Point hotel as part of the annual Junefest. Forgotten Door won the showroom event, which gave them the opportunity to open for Terri Nunn and Berlin, Steppenwolf and Sly and the Family Stone. Justin Chase from the radio station later hooked them up to perform in the Neon Garage at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Truck Series event in 2010.

Like every great emerging band, Forgotten Door has a colorful back story that involves haggles with outside producers and what Stanley calls “raging storms during the making of this album.” The band has endured many trying times that have solidified their creative and personal relationship and given rise to a fierce member to member loyalty and a rich authenticity that translates to a powerhouse recording debut and a dynamic stage show.

“We’re most looking forward to showing the world that there’s a band out there that’s filling the gap and playing new music in that classic vein,” Stanley adds. “I’ve heard it said that music is emotion hung on a note, and our goal is always to move people in such a way that they are motivated to buy our album as a souvenir of our live musical experience, which has also given them joyful memories they can take with them. Looking forward to our residency at the Clarion, we want longtime fans to be excited about our new venture and hope that newcomers who decide to take a chance and check us out will leave thinking that something very cool and exciting is going on here.”
