Los Angeles, California — Jazz collective Sasha’s Bloc will join special guests for KKJZ’s (KJAZZ) first annual fall benefit concert featuring Grammy nominated vocalist Jane Monheit and Take 6’s Alvin Chea. The jazz collective take influence from the Big Band Jazz sound of the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s, and to a performance style that evokes such seminal acts as Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Count Basie, Scott Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald and more.

The benefit concert will take place at 8pm in Beverly Hills at the Wallis Center for the Performing Arts with tickets ranging from $50-$150. Showcasing their electrifying live show for this special night, Sasha’s Bloc will bring their 15 piece band comprised of Brandon Fields, saxophone; Alex Budman, saxophone, clarinet; Kye Palmer, trumpet; Bob McChesney, trombone; Kevin Winnard, drums; James Lum, guitar, banjo; Andy Langham, piano. Guest artists on the upcoming album include: Jane Monheit, vocal; Alvin Chea, vocal; Jesse Palter, vocal; Tony Galla, vocal; Princess Fortier, vocal; Glynis Leflore, vocal; Akua Willis, vocal, Jason Fabus, accordion; Marc T. Bolin, tuba.

Gershman plays upright bass and electric bass.

An amalgam of varied artists, nationalities and experiences, Sasha’s Bloc is fueled by bassist and songwriter Alex Gershman that all together delivers a sound that is consistently big, boisterous, full of spirit and rich.

The group has built a name for itself in recent years via multiple sold out concerts at the key Jazz Clubs in Los Angeles, including Catalina Bar and Grill, Vibrato, Backed Potato and Vitello’s.

Ann Wilson Of Heart Announces Solo Mini Tour "The Ann Wilson Thing"

LOS ANGELES, CA—July 13, 2015—Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Ann Wilson is embarking on her first solo mini U.S. tour this fall. Ann’s musical gifts are legendary. Her voice is considered to be among the best ever, with its vast range, amazing power and sheer musicality.  Ever since Dreamboat Annie, Ann has been performing with her equally talented sister, Nancy Wilson, as Heart, thrilling hundreds of thousands of concert fans annually.  Now it is time for Ann to do something she’s always dreamed of, and stretch out as a singer performing songs that are not in the heart-shaped box. With several dates across the nation, Ann Wilson is excited to bring to her fans her new side project, THE ANN WILSON THING, a "passion project" where admirers will receive an exclusive performance of solo material and select songs that she holds in high regard from other artists and writers.  The unique selection of live songs, and perhaps a couple of Heart classics, will offer her supporters a truly special experience. Some of the shows will have a guest performer sit in for a song.  Alison Krauss will be part of the Nashville show.

“I am excited to bring the fans my renditions of some songs that I have always loved,” states Wilson.  “This tour will allow me to play smaller venues and push my vocal boundaries.”

As a songwriter and lyricist, Ann Wilson has created a truly impressive body of work (“Crazy on You,” “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Dog & Butterfly,” “Straight On”, “Even it Up,” “Mistral Wind,” and many, many more).  However, her greatest gift, and first “calling” is singing and with this intimate tour, she prepares to blow away her fans with up, close and personal, raw performances of blues and rock songs. The Ann Wilson Thing won’t replace Heart but it will be a new experience for existing Heart fans, as well as for new fans who will love these songs.

The first shows will all take place later this fall, with additional dates to be announced shortly.  Both shows in Annapolis sold out within minutes.

Lita Ford Gets Wicked With Queensryche This Fall

The Queen of Heavy Metal, Lita, has teamed up with Queensryche for a fall tour that can only be described as a metal fan's ultimate musical fantasy. Instead of just hitting the road with Geoff Tate and the gang, Queensryche will also be joining Lita onstage for her entire set.

Lita will perform three songs on the tour, including her hit song, "Close My Eyes Forever," which she will duet with Geoff; as well as two new songs, "Crave," the duet with her husband Jim Gillette which debuted at #2 on metal radio and is another huge hit for Lita and "Patriotic S.O.B." with the Queensryche band backing her up.

"I'm so excited about how we're doing this tour," says Lita. "It's a really cool way to do a show. I'm looking forward to getting out there and seeing my fans again as well as meeting Queensryche's fans. It should be a real fun time for all."

There is no escaping the Wicked Wonderland that is Lita's first new album in 14 years when it drops on Oct. 6. Not only will the hardest-working woman in metal be mixing it up with Queensryche throughout October and November, but also advertisements for the new CD will be on nearly 17,000 movie theater screens nationwide during those two months. The adverts will include snippets of Wicked's wonderful ballad "Sacred" for an estimated audience of 17 million to hear.

Lita mania doesn't stop there. In January and February, it hits the friendly skies, as Delta Airlines will feature a 15-minute, three-song music and interview segment in its in-flight entertainment program. She will also be featured in Delta's acclaimed in-flight magazine, Sky. This will reach nearly 20 million passengers on 90,000 flights nationwide during the two-month campaign.
