Heart to Speak and Perform at SXSW 2012

The South By Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival proudly

announces that Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart will appear as featured

speakers on Thursday, March 15 in the Austin Convention Center. Heart will

also perform at SXSW 2012 as showcasing artists, with date and venue

information to be announced soon.

Songs like "Crazy On You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda" and "Straight On"

established Heart in the DNA of classic rock. Ann and Nancy Wilson were

among the first women who worked as writers, performers and leaders of the

band. Heart proved their staying power in the MTV era, topping the charts

through the 80s and 90s. The sisters have branched out to solo efforts while

continuing to tour and record together. Their most recent album, Red Velvet

Car, debuted at 10* on the Billboard Top 200 LPs in 2010. In 2012, they will

be releasing their follow-up to that album, a career-spanning box set as

well as an autobiography. In addition to their first-ever appearance at

SXSW, they will also be installing their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

in 2012.

Artists who have participated as featured speakers previously at SXSW Music

include Yoko Ono, Morrissey, Elvis Costello, DEVO, Cheap Trick and Emmylou

Harris. The SXSW Interview with Heart will be a highlight among over 150

conference sessions currently being planned, which includes the previously

announced keynote speaker Bruce Springsteen. All SXSW Music Conference

events are open to Music and Platinum registrants as well as registered

showcasing artists. Conference registrations are now being accepted.
