Carolina Country Rockers Win People’s Choice Honor On

Charlotte, NC - Carolina country rockers SwampDaWamp (pronounced swamp duh wamp) have won the “People’s Choice” honor as the artist fans would most like to see perform on the famed Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man Cruise. The band will set sail on the Carnival Inspiration January 21 - 25, 2010 from Tampa, Florida to Cozumel, Mexico along with headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, Drivin’ & Cryin’ and thirteen other top musical acts.

Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, the members of SwampDaWamp are busy pinching themselves after receiving the news. Fans were asked to nominate the artist they would most like to see perform on the cruise. The Top 5 nominees were selected, which found SwampDaWamp in very impressive company among such acts as the legendary Little Feat (most notable hit, “Dixie Chicken”) and rising country rocker and son of Waylon Jennings, Shooter Jennings. “Fans who are booked on the Simple Man Cruise 2010 nominated their favorite acts to join the cruise roster, and the top five nominees were chosen to go out to booked guests for a vote. SwampDaWamp won, and Sixthman is excited to have them aboard”, says a representative of Sixthman, producers of the cruise. “We’re thrilled and so grateful to Sixthman for this incredible opportunity as well as the amazing fans who voted for us” says Gig Michaels, lead singer of SwampDaWamp. “Knowing that the fans made this happen makes this such a special moment for us, we’re going to make them proud”, he added.
