Arguably the greatest jazz drummer of all time, the legendary Buddy Rich received recognition throughout his career being presented with The Downbeat Magazine Hall of Fame Award, the Modern Drummer Magazine Hall of Fame Award and the Jazz Award are just a few of his numerous honors.  Rich toured around the globe, performing for millions of fans and several world leaders including the King of Thailand, King Hussein of Jordan the Queen of England, and U.S. presidents Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

After her father's passing, his daughter Cathy has devoted her life to preserving the legacy she was born into.  It was Buddy's wish to keep his band and music alive and it has been her mission to make sure her father's wish came true.

After a 24 year hiatus from the road, Cathy Rich has put together a fresh crop of the finest young musicians to record and tour in Buddy's name.  She has enlisted Emmy award winner drummer Gregg Potter to helm the project.  Gregg's fire, showmanship, and drumming prowess adds a new exciting chapter to the history of this legendary band.

Be sure not to miss this exciting Big Band in concert and be a part of the launch of the "new" Buddy rich Big Band.  This is not a look back, but a surge forward.  Buddy was all about young, hip, and modern-nothing nostalgic or old.  It is Cathy's wish to have her father's name live on forever, and that his contribution to the music world is never forgotten.  Be sure not to miss this opportunity to be a part of the 2012 BUDDY RICH BIG BAND FEATURING GREGG POTTER & CATHY RICH World Tour

Opening the show will be Pittsburgh's own JESSICA LEE JAZZ & BLUES QUARTET.
