Diva De Lai Reveals New Innovative Bob Dylan Tribute Rock Opera Album, Dylan at the Opera To Be Released October 22nd, 2013

Listen to Single Señor (Tales of Yankee Power) on Soundcloud

Diva de Lai is coming on to the new music scene as an innovative band that is looking to mix two unique styles, Rock and Opera. Dylan at the Opera is a concept album composed of original Bob Dylan songs rearranged in different rock styles with operatic vocals and represents their latest release.

Yuval Nachtom, drummer and founder of Diva de Lai, created the concept and vision for the unique sound. Together with guitarist Eyal Sucher, who arranged the album, worked as a team on the music production.

A well-rounded band, Diva de Lai is comprised of Yuval Nachtom who also holds a PhD in economics, Grammy-nominated bassist and producer Yossi Fine, Eyal Sucher, who holds a Masters degree in music, specializing in orchestra conducting, plays guitar and keyboard with mezzo-soprano and leading classical singer, Karin Shifrin as their front-woman.

Señor (Tales of Yankee Power), the first single, was written by Dylan in the 1970’s and is a dark and depressing song that at the time was not understood. Though the original is simple, the lyric-heavy folk song was perfectly translated into a dramatic rock, opera sound that Shifrin captures in the cover.

With her powerful delivery throughout the song, Shifrin executes the song’s messages on point. “Señor is about lack of hope, the rule of a tyrant, cruelty, lost love and maybe looking for an answer in a heavenly entity,” Nachtom states.

“If we imagine that Señor is the name or nick name of a woman, then one can see here a dirge for a lost love - for a woman who walked away. The color of the lyrics and the melody present a challenge and are a natural basis for hard-core opera.”

Dylan at the Opera is set to be released on October 22nd with 12 tracks to look forward to.  Diva de Lai kept the classic Bob Dylan while providing their own creative spin to an original concept album.

SARASOTA, FL – Brides Against Breast Cancer™ (BABC) announced today that noted singer and songwriter Margo Rey has been named volunteer ambassador for the national  non-profit organization. Her hit, "Let the Rain," a top 20 Billboard charting song, will become the theme song for a new BABC nationwide campaign.

"From my perspective as a breast cancer warrior now undergoing chemotherapy, I believe that education and personal support are just as critical as prompt medical treatment," said Margo Rey. "It is my pleasure to join Brides Against Breast Cancer to raise awareness and help ensure that no one ever has to face cancer alone."

In her role as ambassador, Margo Rey will visit select cities where Brides Against Breast Cancer (www.bridesabc.org) holds its “Original Nationwide Tour of Gowns” bridal shows, which raise money for education, information and outreach services to cancer patients and their families.  She is also looking forward to becoming a bride herself, planning a fall wedding to her partner for the last five years, famous comedian and actor Ron “Tater Salad” White.

"Margo Rey's cancer journey will offer inspiration to so many people," said Carl Ritter, chief executive officer for the Sarasota-based nonprofit. "She will spread hope and courage to thousands of families affected by cancer in her role as Ambassador."

Rey’s alternative pop songs have captured a worldwide audience with their unforgettable melodies, groove oriented arrangements and enduring, socially conscious lyrics. Her biggest hit, “Let the Rain” – co-written with the legendary John Oates – remained on the charts for 21 weeks.  Rey’s newest single, “Tempted,” is presently in the Top 40 charts and currently being played on dozens of radio stations across the United States.

A native of Mexico, Margo Rey is fluent in English and Spanish and holds good conversational skills in French and Italian.  She was raised in the Dallas area, where she began performing at the age of 11. A singer, songwriter and a dancer, Rey has been a vocalist in pop groups and TV commercials, and was voice-over talent in the 2008 animated movie "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" and has toured with New York City Broadway shows.

In keeping with Rey's volunteer leadership, BABC is kicking off a new campaign this summer called simply, "I Do!"  As Amy Paulishak, vice president, said, "Those two words from all our future brides describe the response we hope to hear when we ask people to support our program, from donating funds, to performing self-breast exams and helping family members and friends facing this disease."

This year, Brides Against Breast Cancer will host more than 120 bridal shows nationwide,
and will contribute 2 million dollars to support free programs and services to help people impacted by cancer.  In addition, the nonprofit will distribute thousands of breast self-examination cards.

Brides Against Breast Cancer sells all brands of new designer and gently worn wedding gowns, with an average offering of nearly 1,000 dresses at each show. Gowns are available in sizes from 0 to 24, and layaway is available.  Gown prices start at $99 and range upwards to new name brand and couture gowns valued at $3,900 or more.

“Our organization makes it possible for future brides around the country to purchase wedding gowns at dramatic savings, as well as donate their own gowns,” said Paulishak.  "If you have already said, 'I do,' and want to donate your gown, a charitable tax deduction is available."

Singer-Songwriter-Pianist Shauna Burns Reveals New Inspiring Celtic Folk Rock CD, “Violet” Set for October 22, 2013 Release

Celtic vocalist and singer-songwriter Shauna Burns is back with new music that will inspire and empower you. With her past releases in 2009 and 2011, she has taken her new music in a new direction for her fans.

“A new seed planted. Almost ready to bloom forth!” After her last album release, Burns is proud to announce her brand new album entitled Violet. The direction taken for this project is focused on women and female empowerment. Continuing with her Celtic flare, this upcoming release also follows the same structure from A Winter Gathering by having collaborations on the album performed by her and her husband, drummer/percussionist James Clark (who also co-produces), as well as Ryan Whyte Maloney on the guitar, Lindsey Springer on the cello, and Caroline Kember, Burns’ niece, on harp.

Violet is currently set for a October 22nd release with a total of 14 songs on the album. With new songs titled “Orchid” and “Portobello”, Burns has stated that this album will have a positive, uplifting spirit.

It will express the strengths that all women should carry. Burns decided to make “Violet” the main piece of the album because she feels it being a concept of being free.

“Orchid” will be a vital piece of the album as well because it showcases a deeper level of vulnerability incorporating the cello, violin, and piano. The single, "Little Song" is a sweet introduction to the album that is about the possibility of the future and giving into what a new relationship brings.  “Out with the old in with the new, letting go and jumping off the cliff of adventure.”
